The Free Beginning Ballet Series is held twice annually and introduces young dancers, ages 6-11, to the fundamentals of ballet. These free classes help children decide if ballet is right for them. TPB welcomes all new dancers in this commitment-free, three-class series, with the goal of giving students the basic foundations and an appreciation of dance. Sign up and find out why TPB is Portland’s premier academy for nurturing, student-centered ballet training.
The final class acts as a placement assessment for the Curriculum Ballet program. Students must attend the full series (all three classes) to be eligible for placement into the Curriculum program. Register early, as class size is limited. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled.
Dress Code
Female dancers can wear either pink tights and pink ballet shoes or skin-tone tights and skin-tone ballet shoes and a leotard of any color but should not wear skirts or tutus. Male dancers can wear black tights or shorts, a white T-shirt and black ballet shoes.
If the dancer does not have the attire listed above, dancers should wear clothes they can move in. Ballet shoes can be loaned free of charge at the front desk.
