Kate Andries is arts administrator who translated her love of ballet into a career supporting others as they pursue their artistic dreams. She trained in classical ballet for 15 years under the guidance of Nancy Davis, Patti Jones, and Elizabeth Guerin among others where she learned not just great technique but also how to take joy in working hard. She transitioned from dance to theatre and graduated form the University of Puget Sound with a BA in theatre. Upon receiving her degree she returned to the Portland area where she began working part-time at TPB’s front desk in 2008. Returning to a ballet studio was a perfect fit, and in 2009 she joined TPB full time. Kate continues to advance her skill set by pursuing continuing education courses in Non-Profit Financial Management. She also holds a Certificate in Grant Writing from the Willamette Valley Development officers. Over the years she has held many roles in TPB’s offices but has always had a passion for making it happen; there is nothing quite like opening night!
