Amy Benton received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Simmons College in Boston, MA graduating with honors in 2008. Prior to this, she earned a BS in Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2005. Amy is a Certified Manual Therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified in the ASTYM™ system for the treatment of repetitive stress/chronic overuse injuries.

Amy is a classically trained dancer and aerialist who has performed throughout New England and the Pacific Northwest for the last 15 years. She spent 4 years with Portland’s premier aerial company AWOL (Aerial without Limits) performing and training fellow dancers for peak performance. Trained in Pilates, Yoga and the Functional Movement System (FMS) she utilizes this knowledge in combination with her manual therapy techniques to provide holistic and comprehensive treatment to performing artists in the clinic setting.

Currently, Amy is the lead Physical Therapist for The Portland Ballet providing injury prevention screenings, pre-pointe assessments and treatment to the dancers on site. She is an active member of the Dance Wire health care network, a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science and the co-owner of Prime Performance LLC whose focus is on improving performance of athletes with science based interventions. 

In her free time, Amy enjoys rock climbing, aerial acrobatics, running, weight lifting, and hiking with her husband, son and daughter. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-offset-3″][vc_column_text]Jacob Garrett – Licensed Mental Health Professional

Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Jacob was introduced to ballet while participating in his town’s local community theater and began studying with Midwest Regional Ballet in Joplin, Missouri.  After graduating from high school, he trained at The Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson Academy and then moved to New York City to attend The Joffrey Ballet School.  He danced with The Colorado Ballet as an apprentice for one season and professionally with the Saint Louis Ballet for seven seasons.  He retired from ballet in 2014 to complete his BA in psychology at the University of Missouri – Saint Louis and received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego in 2018.  Currently, he is a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) and works with youth and adolescents.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-offset-3″][vc_column_text]Marisa Michaels – Registered Dietitian

Marisa Michael, MSc, RDN, CSSD is a registered dietitian and board certified specialist in sports dietetics. Marisa has been a dietitian for 19 years and has helped thousands of clients find better health and performance and improve their relationship with food. She has a private practice in the Portland area.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-offset-3″][vc_column_text]Noel Tenoso – Physical Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy

Noel Tenoso has earned both his Masters in Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University. He is a Registered Yoga Instructor with the Yoga Alliance. In 1999, Noel founded Advance Sports and Spine Therapy with a vision to connect patients to what’s most important in their lives through a fun and personal rehabilitation setting.

Noel is involved with several committees within the Oregon Physical Therapy Association. His passion for quality care has fueled a desire to assist with much of the government affairs within the profession. Currently, Noel practices physical therapy out of the West Linn Advance Sports and Spine Therapy location. When he’s not in the clinic, you can find him working on his yoga flow or teaching kettlebell classes!
