Melissa Framiglio

Melissa Framiglio was raised near Pittsburgh, PA. She trained with Patricia McKeown at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, spending summers on scholarship at Boston Ballet, Chautauqua Festival Ballet, and the Rock School. Upon graduating, Melissa joined the Louisville Ballet. Over ten seasons, she danced a diverse repertory of principal and soloist roles such as Juliet, Cinderella, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Terpsichore in Apollo and works by Antony Tudor, David Parsons and Paul Taylor. Melissa has taught in many schools in the Louisville, Boston and Portland areas, served as ballet mistress and pointe teacher for several summers at Burklyn Ballet Theatre, taught open, curriculum, and company class at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, and served as Nutcracker children’s rehearsal assistant at Louisville Ballet. Since 2005 she has been a certified GYROTONIC® instructor.  Melissa has been a member of The Portland Ballet faculty since 2012.
